The Edmonton Padres will host a second 18U AAA in the 2021 season.  With a strong core of 15U AAA players moving up and solid talent returning at the 18U level, running two teams made sense.  Add to that a coaching staff with exceptional experience, baseball knowledge and enthusiasm, and it will make for an excellent season for the team.

Alberto Gonzalez has been named the head coach of this second AAA squad which will be referred to as Padres 18U AAA Orange.  Alberto recently relocated to Edmonton from his home country of Cuba and brings tremendous baseball coaching experience and connections with him.  From coaching with the Cuban National Team in the Caribbean Games and against the Tampa Bay Rays in a historic game in Cuba, to personal training with several Major and Minor League Baseball players as well as youth from Cuba, Alberto has a passion for development from the grassroots to the highest levels.

Assisting Alberto will be his brother-in-law Ismael Garcia who is also originally from Cuba and has a great understanding of athletic and baseball skill development.  Cam Clarke rounds out the coaching staff as a player favourite and the most experienced with the Edmonton Padres, having coached year round with the program since 2018.

The coaching staff will be on-hand to develop and evaluate talent at the Padres & Angels Spring Training Camp which begins on Friday, March 5 for 18U.  Players will participate in a four-week, developmental progression to prepare for the season while also being evaluated for 18U AAA and AA roster spots.

Those interested in trying out for Padres 18U AAA teams should preregister HERE to attend the Spring Training Camp (15U and 13U age groups will also take part in Spring Training Camp with specific sessions).  Padres & Angels AAA and AA rosters will be announced on Sunday, April 4.
