CHAMPIONS! Padres 13U AAA wins gold at Doc Plotzky

The Edmonton Padres 13U AAA team won gold at the Doc Plotzky tournament in Sherwood Park with a 13-8 win over Parkland in the final.  James Cote led the way on the mound and at the plate with 5 innings pitched, 4 hits and 4 runs batted in.

Khale Leblanc sealed the victory with the final two innings pitched and had 2 hits at the plate himself.  Tegan O’Connor also chipped in with a pair of hits.

The tournament championship concludes a strong first month for the 13U AAA team.  They’ve sat at or near the top of the league standings throughout May and have a tournament silver and now gold under their belts.

“The kids played well,” said head coach Chris Frewin after the game.  “It’s coming along nicely.”
